The Equipment Register allows users to create equipment items, record key details, attach documentation, and assign equipment to people, aircraft, or locations.
Before you begin, make sure that the Setup page for Equipment Register has been completed and reviewed.
How to set up the Equipment Register
Adding a new equipment item
Go to Operations > Equipment Register. The module will open in PWA.
Select Add Equipment.

Enter the equipment details visible on the page.
The "Default Inspection Template" dropdown list allows you to choose the Inspection Template appropriate for this Equipment.The Inspection Templates are configurable in the Equipment Register Setup.
(Optional) Fill in the Inspection Scheduling details.
The person responsible for the Equipment and its scheduled Inspections is the Equipment Owner, chosen earlier on the page. The Equipment Owner is also a default Inspector for the item, unless different personnel are chosen.

Click the Add Equipment button to save the item.
Once saved, the Equipment will be added to the Register.
Click on the item to view the equipment's details, as well as additional options that become available:
Adding attachments to equipment
Open the equipment item in the Equipment Register.
Select Documents/Images tab.

Fill in the details.
Attachment Type - By default, there are two attachment types: Manual or Photo. More can be added in the Equipment Register Setup.
(Optional) Version Number - You can assign a number or ID to each file.
(Optional) Version Date - You can assign the date associated with the file version.
(Optional) Description - Add a description of the file to provide more context.
Click on the + Add Documents / Images button to select and upload the file.
The uploaded document will load underneath and will already be part of the attachment list.
To manage this document (change details, download or delete it), click on the arrow to the right.
Scanning and adding a barcode
Barcodes can be used to quickly identify or locate equipment.
Open the equipment item in the Equipment Register.
Go to the Barcode tab.
Click on the + Add Barcode button.
In the pop-up window, enter the barcode details and scan the barcode.
Click Add to save the details.
Assigning the equipment
Equipment can be assigned to a person, an aircraft, or another defined location. The assignment shows where the equipment is currently in use.
Open the equipment item in the Equipment Register.
Scroll to the bottom of the Equipment Details tab to: Equipment Assignments.

Click on the + Add Assignment button.

In the pop-up window, select and fill in the following details:
Assignment Type - Choose where or to whom the equipment will be assigned to
Assignment Date - Choose when the item was originally assigned to that person/location
Notes - Add any other relevant information
Click on the Assign button to save the assignment.
After creating a new assignment, it will then show on the list of assignments for this equipment.
Each item has a few Action items (icons) to the right:
- A pencil will allow you to edit the item assignment.
- An X icon will allow you to unassign the item immediately, changing its status to historical.
